6 STEPS TO MAXIMIZE YOUR POCKET MONEY.

Life as a student with cash can be fun or boring. It is left for one to decide,then choose what works for you,the amount notwithstanding.
The steps below will help you utilize and also make the best out of your purse.

1. Have a budget every month. Whether you are given ten thousand naira or a hundred per month,set a limit to your daily expenses. Prioritize your needs no matter the urgency of fulfilling them.
2. Live 'Safe'. The euphoria of gaining admission into the higher institution should not sway you for long. In as much as most school hostels are uninhabitable,there are still clean ones. Getting a room in the school hostel will save you the cost of transportation, paying electrical bills and water bills.Again,the rent is quite cheaper than other alternatives.
3. Prepare your meals yourself. As a student,it is not advisable to be eating out always. The chances of finishing your wage in the second week is very high. Besides,you are risking your health feeding on junk. Note that you can prepare a week meal with two thousand naira and be satisfied than 'buying out' for same set time.
4. Avoid unnecessary associations.  The primary purpose of every scholar is to study and graduate with employable grades. Engaging in more than expected extra-curriculum activities can be financially demanding.  For instance,You pay for registration,pay for attendance, levy for weddings,for child dedication,party, and so on.  Please get it straight,these promotes relationships and are healthy for every student BUT should be one at a time to reduce financial pressure. You must not be in all the groups in school. 
5. Piggy bank.                                                       Do you know you can save 500-2000 naira per month as a student?  Get a piggy bag and drop that 💯 naira every week.Return every 3months or one year and you will be happy you did. In the absence of a bag,an empty bottle or can with a small opening will serve perfectly.
6. Invest.                                                                     The best time to cultivate the habit of investment is whilst being a student. Please,do not waste your hard earned savings on quick fix multiplier.There are a good number of less distracting,less demanding businesses and projects fit for  students. Time as said,is also money. Spend your weekends wisely by learning skills and using them. Instead of travelling, make a dress every weekend and get paid. Fix your colleagues hair and get paid . Buy a photocopier and employ someone. Supply your colleagues with materials-books, bedsheets, etc. With time,you become self independent.
